Deployment Tips with Lauren Lee

What do you do when your husband deploys? As a military spouse, you have probably asked this question of yourself or been asked by those around you. Though the details can differ vastly for each spouse, the main answer is universally the same, “You do what you have to do.”

For some spouses, this includes becoming more involved in community service or church. For others, it means long hours at the office or staying home caring for children. I recently sat down with Marine spouse Lauren Lee to ask her a few questions that many of us ponder when we hear that our husband will soon deploy. Lauren is the wife of Staff Sgt. POOLS RE-OPENED: The Training Tank Pool is now open through 29 November 2009 for unit
training only.  Please call 830-6212 for reservations. The Officers Club Pool is available for lap swim from 1100 - 1300 and 1400-1800 weather permitting. Please call the Officers Club Pool with any questions at 830-7250.

TAILORING NEWS:In order to better support and serve our service members during the Ball Season the Tailoring/Dry Cleaning department will be open on Saturdays from 1000 - 1400 and will remain open on Saturdays through the 5th of December 2009.  POC Eddie Benitez at 830-6011.

The Single Marine Program is getting a face lift and will be located next to Subway (7th Street & Bourke)

FREE Online Tutoring for Marines and their Families!
Marines and their families can now get free help with school work thanks to a new contract with Tutor.com.  Students of any age, from kindergartner to high school senior, as well as adult students, may use the service to connect to an expert tutor for help in math, science, social studies and English. Each tutor has earned a degree and has completed extensive background checks. Online homework help is available at installation MCCS libraries or 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by visiting www.usmc-mccs.org/library/tutor/. You can also download more information HERE.
