Readiness & Deployment Support enhances unit readiness by delivering mobile family education programs to all ages. Designed specifically for Marines, Sailors and families, these programs increase awareness of relevant readiness issues, while offering individuals creative ideas to build a healthier family. We cover a variety of topics including command support, information & resources, pre-deployment briefs, readiness training and return & reunion workshops.

MCFTB Readiness and Deployment Support Training offers assistance to units by connecting unit Family Readiness Officers and commands, assisting with family readiness issues, and delivering pre, during, and post-deployment presentations.

Pre-deployment for Single Marines/Pre-deployment for Marines & Families Brief:
Pre-deployment briefs are designed to hit the wave tops of important topics to better prepare the Marine and their family for deployment/separation challenges they are faced with. Armed with this knowledge, Marines and family members can become proactive in their preparation for deployment.

.:Description of Workshops:.

Return & Reunion Workshop: This workshop is designed to be an interactive workshop between spouses. The focus of this workshop is the reunion plan of both the spouse and the Marine. We will cover areas such as communication, deployment stress on you and your Marine, reintegration, and then re-visit the expectations.

Beyond the Brief (The Rest of the Story) Workshops: Beyond the Brief is a series of  six workshops aimed at addressing topics identified as needing more discussion. The individual workshops are meant to delve into greater depth of topics addressed in the Pre-deployment briefs in a more hands on manner. This series can be offered to an open audience or at the request of individual commands.

Module 1 - Coping with Deployment: To provide spouses with an understanding of the stress continuum and to give them the skills to cope.

Module 2 - Safe and Sound at Home: To empower spouses with the ability and confidence to be responsible for their own personal safety.

Module 3 - Financial Planning: To provide spouses with a better understanding of a variety of financial topics.

Module 4 - Casualty Assistance Process: To educate and reassure spouses that they will be taken care of in every way possible should the need arise for a CACO to visit them, not to scare them or bring up the morbid ‘what ifs’.

Module 5 - Combat Operational Stress: To educate spouses on what Combat Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder really are and the differences between the two.

Module 6 - Communication Challenges: To help spouses recognize and remedy the communication challenges that occur within the military family.

Kids-N-Deployment (for Parents/Kids) Workshop: These workshops are structured to deliver the tools needed for children and parents to positively and successfully cope during deployment.

Kids-N-Reunion (for Parents/Kids) Workshop: This workshop delivers the tools needed for children and parents to positively and successfully adjust to the return of the deployed parent.

In the Midst for Kids Workshop
: Kids “In the Midst” is based on the S.T.A.R. Kids acronym – Standing Together and Reaching Kids.  These four venues are designed to give children F.E.E.T. – Fun, Educational, and Exciting Tools that help kids ages 4-18 with military life.

In the Midst for Parents Workshop
: In the Midst was designed to sustain spouse through the deployment. The workshop addresses the spouses’ lower level of energy, importance of taking care of themselves, not over-extending, and just providing that little helping hand to get through the rest of the deployment. This workshop will allow spouses to focus on themselves.
