Oct - Dec Beyond the Brief is a set of workshops to enable families to be better prepared for deployments and homecomings. These briefs cover topics like Coping with Deployment, Financial Planning, Combat Operational Stress and more. Jan 6 [Sign up NOW] "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." So are you looking to test your skills? Well get your unit or battalion teams together and sign up for the Winter Dodgeball League, hosted by the East Gym. Teams will consist of 4 members and 1 substitute, with a maximum of 10 members per team. A mandatory coaches meeting will be held on December 18 at 1pm to cover rules and answer any questions about league play. League play will start on January 6 at the East Gym. Dec 1 On Monday, December 1st, the MCX will be hosting a SMP Shopping Night! This event is for all single Marines and Sailors. So come down to the Main Exchange for special savings on selected holiday merchandise, enjoy FREE refreshments, as well as get to play some of the hottest video games and entertainment. There will also be prize drawings and you can get your picture taken with Santa! This event is from 4pm to 8pm, and the MCX will be closed to regular business. Dec 2 Marine Corps Family Team Building will be hosting a workshop for Kids-n-Deployment on Tuesday, December 2 at 6pm in the Community Center. This support program is geared to delive the tools that parents will need in order to positively and successfully cope with deployments, which are an integral part of the military lifestyle. December 4 L.I.N.K.S. has developed several new programs to target certain groups who are affected by life in the Military. L.I.N.K.S. for Marines will have a session on December 4th, from 8am - 3pm. Unit sessions can be booked at any time. All classes will be held at the L.I.N.K.S. house at Bldg. 696T, across the street from the MCCS Home Store. For questions or to register for a session please call 830-1696. The L.I.N.K.S. house is open daily from 7:30am - 4:30pm, excluding weekends and Federal holidays. |
