March 19

On Friday, March 19th from 6 - 7pm, another great Joshua Tree Park Lecture will be in full swing! This time, Erin Babich will be discussing the wildflowers of the Mojave Desert. This lecture will be held in the Protestant Chapel, and is FREE to all hands and ages.

March 24

On Wednesday, March 24th, over 50 businesses, colleges and vocational schools will be on hand at the West Gym to recruit personnel for employment
and to provide information concerning educational opportunities in a wide variety of fields.

This event is FREE to all patrons.

Job Seekers - bring your resumés and be ready to discuss your future with the available agencies. Business dress or uniform of the day is highly suggested.

Previous employers have included the Secret Service, FBI, Morongo Unified School District, Home Depot, Lockheed Martin, Gavin DeBecker, Bradley Morris and MANY more!

Join the Officer's Club for another great themed lunch! This time, Dr. Seuss and his gang will be around to entertain. This event is open to all hands and ages. Lunch is served from 11am - 1pm.

April is the Mont of the Military Child! And Thursday, April 1st on Felix Field we will be celebrating our military children with a carnival! This event is from 11am - 1pm, and children of all ages are welcome to join the games, face painting, hot dogs and more!

On April 3, from 11am - 3pm on Felix Field, there will be a FREE Easter Egg Hunt for ages 1 - 10yrs. Children will be divided into four age groups, and there will be FREE snowcones, cotton candy, pictures with Peter Cottontail, coloring games, contests and more! Don't forget to bring your basket!

The Officers’ Club is happy to announce the return of BRUNCH for Easter Sunday,
April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Got Talent? Know someone that has talent? Do you have what it takes to perform LIVE? Then this event is for you!

Tryouts are April 20th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Zone & the show is April 24th starting at 6:30pm at Sunset Cinema!

NOTE: All acts must pass auditions to perform during actual show and participants MUST be in the military. Because of material content, you must be 18 years old or possess a military ID.

On Wednesday, April 21, Operation Pacifier, a baby shower will be hosted for all MCCS authorized patrons at the Officer's Club! Come enjoy games, prizes, special guest speakers, information and resources and much more! Childcare is available to those who reserve BEFORE APRIL 14th. Baby Basics Class

Baby Basics is a fast-paced class that provides information on labor & delivery, postpartum, breast-feeding and safety for babies from pregnancy to 12 months. The class also emphasizes the father's involvement and includes interactive demonstrations of basic infant care, such as bathing, diapering and soothing a crying baby. The class is provided to expectant parents [both couples and singles]. Participants must register prior to attending class. This class combines Mommy's Basic Training and Daddy's Baby Boot Camp.

4 Lenses Workshop

Are you an orange or are you blue? If you want to learn more about yourself and those around you, join us for this fun workshop that is all about personality! You will learn why people do the things they do while getting to know yourself in the process.

Care Package Day is Everyday!

Send a Care Packages to your deployed Marine or Sailor! MCCS is now offering weekday (except Federal Holidays) mailings.

We provide the flat rate APO/FPO boxes, tape, custom forms and labels. Sorry we don't have packing peanuts. The only requirement is that the package NOT be opened prior to sending.

For each package sent, the sender will receives a $10.00 coupon for use in the Main Exchange (it cannot be used at Seven Day or any other Retail facility); coupon expire at the end of 2010.

The flat rate prices are $10.35 for the small box
and $11.95 for the larger box. Senders may provide their own packaging, but they will pay the adequate postage for that size and weight.

Child care will be available if participants are registered for class at a minimum of three (3) business days prior and requests the need.

Family Readiness Volunteer Training is for individuals who wish to volunteer for their unit in the capacity of Family Readiness Assistant to the Family Readiness Officer or as a Family Readiness Advisor to the unit Command Team.

Family Readiness Volunteer training classes can also
be scheduled on an as needed basis at the request
of the Family Readiness Officer for each
unit/command.

Overseas Connection is a PCS workshop for anyone with orders to any military installation outside of the Continental United States. We’ll discuss pay and entitlements unique to living overseas, such as Cost of Living Allowance and Overseas Housing Allowance. We’ll also discuss pet importation and other helpful moving tips. Representatives from IPAC, TMO and Housing will be available to answer any questions. Single and married active duty service members and dependents are invited to attend.

Welcome Aboard Workshop

You’ve made it to the desert - now what do you do? The Welcome Aboard Brief will tell you everything you need to know about life aboard MCAGCC. We’ll tell you about the different activities and services available to you on the base. You’ll also learn about the surrounding communities. From Twentynine Palms to Palm Springs, to Vegas and San Diego, we’ll tell you everything you need to know for life in the high desert! Door prizes will be awared.

Youth Football

The camp is a non-contact football skill camp for ages 6 to 18 [still in high school]. -proof of age required-

Camp will be conducted by Coaching Solution Innovations. Instructors will include college, semi-pro players along with ex and current NFL players. Contact Youth Sports for cost.

Pitch, Hit & Run

A practice day will be held April 10 from 9am-noon.
There is a basesball competition for boys 7 to 14 and softball for girls 7 to 14. [Proof of age required]

Start Smart Tennis

For boys and girls ages 5 - 7 [proof of age is required]. Season is from April - May at the tennis courts. Cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt, participant manual and award. Children will learn techniques and skills in a fun environment. Register NOW - March 19th or until program is filled.

Youth Tumbling
Saturdays from 8:30am - 1:30pm

Ages 3 to 12 - Beginner & Intermediate levels

Initial cost is $35 and includes shoes, t-shirt and 4 classes each Saturday for one month. Following cost is $25 for each additional month’s classes.

Registration will begin day of preview, June 6th at 9am. Space is limited for each class, so register early.
