.:Why I Appreciate My Spouse:.
Enlisted Winner: LCpl Dekoda Wise, 1/7, and wife Lee Ann

My wife name is Lee Ann Wise is the most special thing to ever happen to me in my life. Every night I go to sleep and when I wake up, the first thing I think about is her. She is the most amazing person I have ever met. To be honest, I really don't know why she chose to marry a simple grunt like me. She is very smart and is going to college right now to get her master’s in medical database management. I didn't even graduate high school but she is always telling me that it doesn't matter. She loves me for who I am, not how smart I am. Every morning and night she emails me saying, ''Good morning honey” and “Good night honey.'' Just this alone fills me with so much joy that I am the happiest Marine here. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to take care of me even though I am so many miles away. She goes out of her way to make sure that all my buddies here that do not have the privilege of getting packages at least get something when she ships me one.
There are no words that can explain how lucky I am to have her as my wife. Trust me, I have been here for a while and still can’t explain it. I always used to hear of true love and never really thought it existed until I met Lee. She even volunteers as an SOS driver for the Marines who have no ride to and from the airport. I have called her late in the morning when she had to get up and drive someone to base because they had no ride. She says I’m doing my part over here; she must do her part back home.
I know that this is supposed to be an essay on how I feel and appreciate my wife, but to be completely honest, there are no words to describe how wonderful a person she is. Lee is one of those people who are almost impossible to find nowadays; the kind that will do anything for anybody that needs help. Everyone, from my family and friends to my chain of command, thinks she is a wonderful person. I love her with all my heart and soul and I know that she feels the same about me.
Thank you very much for taking your time to read this. I just wanted to try to express how I feel about my wife, but even if it was a thousand or even a million word essay, that still wouldn't be nearly enough to explain to anyone how I feel, let alone appreciate my beautiful wife Lee.
